The Parlotones

Indie rock band che è tuttora il gruppo che vende di più in Sudafrica.
Dal 2005, quando si sono formati, hanno fatto più di 800 concerti e venduto oltre 150 000 album. Hanno suonato in Sudafrica, Europa e USA, dove hanno condiviso il palco con artisti quali Kings of Leon, The Gossip, Violent Femmes, Jimmy Eat World, New Model Army, Evanescence, Staind, The Rasmus, UB40 and Collective Soul, Starsailor, The Wombats e Razorlight.
Hanno partecipato al Live Earth Concert e la loro performance è stata definita una delle più memorabili da parte di MSN. Nel 2006 al Coke Fest hanno suonato dopo i Metallica. Nel 2009 sono stati visti sul palco anche all'Inaugurazione del presidente sudafricano, all'Africa Day, al SXSW (Texas), al MIDEM (Francia) e al St. Gallen Festial (Svizzera). Durante la loro finora breve carriera hanno vinto numerissimi premi: 3  X MK Awards 2009 (Best Video, Best Animation, Best Serenade) - SAMA Awards 2009 (Best Music Video Of The Year)  -International Songwriting Competition (ISC) 2008 Music Video -You Awards 2009 - (Music Star  of The Year) - People's Choice Awards 2008 (Best Music Act) - Leisure Options 2008 (Best Band) - Loerie Kraft Award 2008  - You Awards 2007 (Best Band) - FHM Readers Choice 2007 - MK Awards 2007 (Best Video) - SAMA Awards 2006 (Best Rock Album).

Attualmente The Parlotones sono usciti con un nuovo album, intitolato "Stardust Galaxies", che porteranno in tour a partire dal prossimo 28 settembre nel Regno Unito, e da qui in tutto il mondo. Suoneranno a: Londra, Reading, Bristol, Liverpool, Guildford, Portsmouth, Manchester, Derby, Glasgow, Amsterdam, Berlino, Monaco, Amburgo, Hanover, Colonia, Magdeburg, Bielefeld, Bochum, Stoccarda, Francoforte, Johannesburg, Città del Capo, Lisbona, Zurigo, Copenhagen, Dubai, Mosca e Perth.
